Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking qualified Physician Assistants to join the Trauma Surgical Critical Care team at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) in Hackensack, New Jersey. Successful candidates will Join a collaborative team of experienced physicians, specialists, and support staff who foster a culture of collaboration with strong clinical support.

Opportunity Highlights:

• Manage a variety of patients in the critical care setting, under the direction and supervision of the Attending Trauma Physician
• Assist, monitor, and manage the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. 
• Serve as an advisor, resource, preceptor and leader for members of the patient care team. 
• Optimize patient safety by providing direct and indirect patient care to a patient population consisting of but not limited to, GI/GU, thoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, GYN oncology, trauma, OB-GYN, and orthopedic subspecialties. 
• The Trauma center at HUMC is equipped with a Helipad and dedicated air medical helicopter providing Medevac transport of injured patients 24 hrs/day.

Schedule: 

• Days, nights, weekends and holidays with rotating shifts
• Orientation consists of seven (7) 12.5 hour shifts a pay period 
• After completion of orientation, the schedule consists of six (6) 14.5 hour shifts including 1/2 hour lunch
• Biweekly pay period 

Qualifications: 

• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant Master's degree 
• New Jersey Physician Assistant License 
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Licenses and Certifications Preferred or within one year of initial employment by HMH
